Opinion: Top Three striker targets for AC Milan this summer

AC Milan have significantly bolstered the squad during this summer’s transfer window after having recruited ten players to their ranks. The Rossoneri have brought in stalwart Leonardo Bonucci to guard their backline whilst the club can rely on the likes of Mateo Musacchio and Lucas Biglia to add a steely resolve to the lineup. The San Siro outfit have strengthened across all departments this campaign, but they are still on the search for a world-class striker, who could potentially compete with summer recruits Andre Silva and Fabio Borino next season. While Milan chief Mirabelli Fassone has already given a hint on the transfer targets, Calcio Insider looks into three players, who could further strengthen the centre-forward department.

Alvaro Morata – Real Madrid: The Spain international has been tipped to leave Real Madrid this summer, but there has not been any suitable agreement in place. Manchester United were initially considered as the prime destination for Morata, but Los Blancos’ £78m valuation cooled their interest. The Champions League winner continues to attract interest from AC Milan, but Mirabelli suggests that the deal should be on their conditions. Morata bagged 20 goals across all competitions for Real Madrid last season whilst lifting both the La Liga and Champions League titles.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Borussia Dortmund: The Gabon international has been the mainstay at Dortmund over the years, but he is now prepared to make the big step. Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been touted as suitable options, and the Rossoneri have joined the pack following their recent spending spree. Aubameyang failed to make much of an impression during his initial career at Milan, and he could be offered a second chance this summer. Dortmund are said to want at least £61m for the striker, who bagged 40 goals last season.

Andrea Belotti – Torino: Probably the most unluckily of transfer targets. Belotti has evolved into a top-class performer for club and country over the past year, but the £88m release clause on his contract has fended off his suitors. The Turin-based club are showing no signs of lowering their valuation, and this could keep Belotti committed to Torino for at least another season. The 23-year-old found the net 28 times for his club last term while also contributing four goals in nine caps for Italy.
