Move imminent: 25-year-old could sign for Man Utd soon

Manchester United have mainly utilized Ecuadorian international Antonio Valencia in the right back position under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Valencia may have done well in the fullback position but naturally, he is a winger. The South American player is going to turn 33 in a few months and the Red Devils need a long term replacement.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Old Trafford club are heavily linked with a move to sign French international and Monaco right back Djibril Sidibe.

According to an exclusive report covered by Le10Sport, Man United and Monaco will start talks for the imminent transfer of the Les Bleus defender. The French source have mentioned that the negotiations are expected to take little time and the deal could be settled even before the World Cup.

The 25-year-old right back helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title in the last campaign and he has been productive for them this season as well.

The former Lille star is not only a solid defender but he is also top quality in the attacking third. So far, in 26 league outings this season, he has directly contributed in 9 goals (2 goals and 7 assists).

As per the provided Le10Sport link, Monaco sold Mendy to Man City for 57 million euros last summer and we can expect Sidibe, whose current contract will expire in 2022, to be sold for even a higher price.
