Manchester United have been interested in hiring the services of Serbian international and Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for quite some time.
As per the latest reports going on in the Italian media, the Red Devils can secure the signing of the 23-year-old midfielder but for that they would have to pay a mammoth amount of cash.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it is mentioned that the Old Trafford club made moves for the Serie A midfielder, Mourinho is still monitoring him and could agree the signing by paying over 110 million euros (£97million).
The former Chelsea boss has already signed a top class midfielder for United this summer by luring Brazilian star Fred from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
Milinkovic-Savic is one of the most sought out midfielders in the world and last season, he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists in 35 league games for Lazio.
Unfortunately, on the final day of the season, Lazio lost to Inter Milan and failed to qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
The former Genk player made his senior international debut last year and so far, he has made 7 appearances for Serbia. In the World Cup, the Serbians could not reach the last 16 and Milinkovic-Savic featured in all the group games but failed to score or create any goal.
