Player Ratings [Manchester United] : Swansea City vs Manchester United

Manchester United clinched their second successive victory of the Premier League season after they beat Swansea City by a convincing 4-0 scoreline at the Liberty Stadium. Here are our player ratings for the game;

David de Gea: Was a virtual spectator for much of the game apart from his save from Martin Olsson’s overhead kick. He will probably hope to have more of such days in the future – 7/10

Antonio Valencia: Fairly restrictive to his own half, but did what was asked of him defensively. Captained the side to another satisfying win with a clean sheet  – 6.5/10

Eric Bailly: Bagged his maiden United goal whilst putting in a commanding performance in the backline. Did not put a foot wrong in the game, while keeping the ball away from Tammy Abraham – 8/10

Phil Jones: Complemented Bailly well at the heart of the defence. He was first to nearly everything in the United backline and made several headed clearances during the first period – 7/10

Daley Blind: Struggled to initial hold out Andre Ayew in the counterattack, but was more secure in the second half. Probably United will fare better with Luke Shaw in the position  – 6/10

Juan Mata: Did what was need of him in the attacking department. Played his normal game while threading in delightful passes for the forward players – 7/10

Nemanja Matic: Another standout performance for the Serb. Won every 50/50 challenge when called upon, and looked rock solid playing alongside Paul Pogba – 8/10

Paul Pogba: The Frenchman was booked midway through the first half for poor discipline. Kept composure through the game before scoring a delightful goal – 8/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Another stellar performance for the attacker. Started the match in slow fashion, but was responsible for finishing the game with two delightful assists. – 9/10

Romelu Lukaku: Bagged another goal for United. The Belgian has netted four times in all three competitive games for the Red Devils. A top start to his United career – 8/10

Marcus Rashford: Slightly disappointing with his finishing. Should have had the opening goal in a one-on-one against Fabianski. Probably needs to work on this aspect of his game – 6/10

Substitutes

Marouane Fellaini: Came on at 1-0, and kept his shape in midfield. Did not have much to do other than contribute a couple of forward passes for his teammates – 6/10

Anthony Martial: The France international bagged yet another goal from the substitutes’ bench. Probably Mourinho needs to rethink his decision of benching the attacker – 6.5/10

Ander Herrera – Had no time to make an impact – N/A
