Man Utd could make €56m move for play breaker – Mourinho keen

Manchester United have players like Herrera, Matic, Carrick, Fellaini, McTominay and record signing Paul Pogba in the midfield department at the moment.

However, Carrick is set to retire at the end of the current campaign and Fellaini would leave the Old Trafford club in the summer. In such a situation, the Red Devils do need to sign a midfielder to reinforce the team and an Italian star is in the focus.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Daily Star, Mourinho is keen on luring Napoli’s highly rated defensive midfielder Jorginho, who has been in fantastic form for the Serie A side this season.

The British outlet have stated that the Portuguese manager will try to tempt Napoli with a huge move worth €56m to hire the services of the 26-year-old star in the summer transfer window

With 12 games remaining, Napoli are currently on top of the Serie A table. Jorginho has been solid in front of the back line all season. Furthermore, he has also been effective in the attacking third.

Overall, in 29 appearances in all competitions, the Brazilian born play breaker has so far directly contributed in 8 goals (4 goals and 4 assists).

At Old Trafford, Nemanja Matic is the first choice holding midfield star in the team. It will be interesting to see how Mourinho will line up his team next season if he can get Jorginho in the summer.
