Man United working to agree signing of €150million star

Manchester United have been interested in signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid for a long time now and the latest reports suggest that they are in talks to make him their fourth signing of the summer (after Dalot, Fred and Grant).

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are working to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur superstar and talks have reached an advanced stage.

Bale is arguably one of the best playmakers in the world but the key dilemma is that he has mainly been on the treatment table in the last 2-3 years.

In the 2016-17 campaign, the Welsh international had major concerns with his calf and ankle and in such a scenario, he only started 17 times in the league for the Los Blancos.

Last season, Bale missed a handful of games due to his problematic calf. Still, when fit, he was absolutely fantastic for the Spanish giants. Overall, he scored 21 goals and provided 7 assists in 39 appearances.

Not to forget, he was awarded the MOTM prize for his stunning performance in the Champions League final against Liverpool.

The 28-year-old attacker is one of the five players who have won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award on two occasions and in my opinion, Bale is exactly the kind of marquee signing that Mourinho needs in his team to battle Guardiola and other rivals for the PL title.

We can expect the former Spurs star to partner the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the attack if he does end up moving to the Old Trafford club. Back in May, renowned Spanish source El Confidencial reported that Real Madrid want €150million for their prized asset.
