Manchester United were linked with Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld before the World Cup and the rumors have once again gathered pace now.
According to a report covered by Yahoo Sport UK, the Red Devils have been given the green light to agree the signing of the highly rated center back. It is mentioned that Tottenham will consider selling the star if the price is right.
Yahoo Sport UK have further stated that the north Londoners value the defender at 75 million pounds (€84million) but it must be remembered that he could depart the club for just 25 million pounds next summer due to a clause in his contract.

Manchester United had the second best defense in the Premier League last season, they only conceded 28 goals in 38 games. Still, it is clear that Mourinho wants to further strengthen his back line.
The Portuguese boss has already lured fullback Dalot from Porto this summer and as per The Mail, he wants to sign Maguire to strengthen his central defense.
Maguire was solid at the back for Leicester last season but Alderweireld is more experienced and he has proved his worth in the PL over the years. The Belgian international was mostly injured in the last campaign for Spurs but he has been solid at the back for the national side at the World Cup.
Alderweireld and Maguire could start for their respective teams today when Belgium and England will collide in the third place WC play-off. In your opinion, who should Mourinho sign for his central defense?
