Liverpool want to capture €85million duo from Primeira Liga

Liverpool splashed the cash and broke their transfer record to sign Dutch international Virgil van Dijk from the Saints in the winter transfer window.

Back in the last summer’s transfer window, the Reds signed Scottish left back Andrew Robertson from Hull City. Now, if reports in the Portuguese media are anything to go by then the Merseysiders are looking to further strengthen their defense.

Yesterday, renowned Portuguese source Correio da Manhã covered two stories and linked two Primeira Liga players – who have a combined worth of €85million – with the Anfield club.

In one report, Correio da Manhã have claimed that Liverpool and Italian side AC Milan are fighting to hire the services of Benfica center half Ruben Dias.

The Portuguese outlet mentioned that club president Luís Filipe Vieira wants a figure close to €40million for the 21-year-old defender, who has got a release clause of €45million in his contract. He featured in 24 league games in the last campaign and scored 3 goals.

On the other hand, Correio da Manhã reported that the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea want to sign Alex Telles from Porto.

The Brazilian left back was fantastic in Porto’s title winning campaign as he provided 14 assists and scored 3 goals in 30 appearances. Overall, he set up 20 goals in 45 games (all competitions) last season. The Portuguese source have stated that the 25-year-old star has got a release clause of €40million in his contract.
