Liverpool will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run in the Premier League on Saturday when they face Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle side.
Last weekend, the Reds were rampant against West Ham United and comfortably won the fixture 4-1. On the other hand, the Magpies could only earn a single point away from home against Bournemouth.
Earlier in the season, the Merseysiders faced Newcastle at St. James’ Park in a contest that ended 1-1 on the day. Jurgen Klopp’s men are in superb form at the moment and at Anfield, they should be considered firm favorites to earn all three points.
The German manager has got majority of his key players fit and there are no suspension concerns at the moment.
Clyne is continuing to get game time with the U-23 team and soon he should be able to return to the first team. For the game against Newcastle, Alexander-Arnold will likely retain his starting place in the team.
Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum could not feature against the Hammers last weekend due to illness but he is in contention to face his former team at the weekend. If fit, the 27-year-old midfielder could replace Milner to start with Can and Oxlade-Chamberlain in the central midfield.
Loris Karius is expected to retain his place in the goal and in front of the German shot stopper, Matip and record signing Van Dijk will probably start in the central defense. Robertson has been brilliant recently and should get the nod to start in the left back position again.
Mane, Salah and Firmino were on the score-sheet last weekend and they must start in the attack for Liverpool.
Predicted XI: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Can, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Salah, Firmino.
