Liverpool have got an over crowded midfield department at the moment with stars like Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Wijnaldum, Lallana and skipper Henderson around.
Moreover, it must be remembered that the Merseysiders will have Guinean midfielder Naby Keita in the team next season. In such a situation, the Reds do not really need to further strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer window.
However, if reports in the Italian media are anything to go by then Liverpool are once again linked with Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
According to TMW, Liverpool were linked with the Polish international when he used to play for Empoli and even now, the Reds have continued to track him. The Italian source have stated that the British side are pleased with the performances of Zielinski and are sure that he can improve the squad.
In the current campaign, the 23-year-old star has so far played 41 games in all competitions for the Serie A side, scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists.
Zielinski is a naturally a creative central midfielder but he can effectively play in the attacking third as a winger as well.
His current deal with the Italian side will expire in 2023 and it has got a mammoth release clause (AS) of 70 million euros (£60million).
