Liverpool ready to capture €74,000-a-week ex Bundesliga playmaker

Liverpool have already secured the deals to sign Naby Keita and Fabinho, who will be joining the Reds officially on July 1.

The Merseysiders have adequately strengthen their midfield department and now, they must focus on reinforcing their attacking department, which seriously lacks depth at the moment.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Liverpool are linked with Swiss international and Stoke City star Shaqiri. According to The Star, Liverpool are lining up a surprise move to sign the €74,000-a-week (The Star) playmaker, who is available for a fee of 12 million pounds.

The Guardian have also covered a report and claimed that manager Jurgen Klopp wants to reinforce key departments and the Reds are interested in signing the ex Bayern Munich attacker, who was part of the team that won the Champions League in 2013.

Moreover, as per Mirror Sport, Liverpool are ready to sign the versatile star by activating the release clause in his contract which is worth 12 million pounds

The 26-year-old player, who can be deployed in multiple attacking positions, featured in 36 league games for the Potters in the last campaign and directly contributed in 15 goals (8 goals and 7 assists). Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to help the club survive relegation.

Shaqiri made his senior international debut back in 2010 and so far, he has played 60 games for Switzerland and scored 20 goals. Not to forget, he is going to the World Cup, so his future is surely not going to be decided soon.
