Liverpool splashed the cash in the winter transfer window to secure their record signing by hiring the services of Dutch center half Virgil van Dijk from the Saints.

The tall defender has been rock solid at the back for the Reds since moving to Anfield. He has mainly partnered Croatian international Dejan Lovren in the central defense under Klopp.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Liverpool are interested in signing Lovren’s compatriot Domagoj Vida, who plays as a defender for Turkish side Besiktas.

According to Turkish journalist Turgay Demir (Aspor), Liverpool and Everton have made moves worth €15million to sign the 29-year-old defender but Besiktas are looking to get €20million from his sale.

Vida left Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv and moved to Turkey in the winter transfer window. Last season, he played 9 league games for Kyiv and scored 2 goals. Moreover, he played 13 league games for Besiktas in the second half of the campaign and scored 1 goal.

The versatile star, who can effectively play as a center back and also as a fullback, made his senior international debut back in 2010 and so far, he has played 62 times for Croatia.

Vida has been impressive in Russia and in his presence, Croatia have only conceded 1 goal in 3 games so far. The Croats will collide against Russia in the Quarter Finals of the World Cup.
