Klopp has decided to bid strong for €60m goalie, who wants Liverpool move

Liverpool are in desperate need of a new goal keeper, who could prove to be consistent in the years to come. If reports in the Spanish media are anything to go by then a new name is linked with the Anfield club.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have been interested in the likes of Atletico’s Oblak and Roma’s Alisson. Now, a third player is on their wish-list in the form of Barca shot stopper Jasper Cillessen.

The ex Ajax star has so far played 39 times for the Dutch national side and he was part of the squad that earned third place in the 2014 World Cup.

The main issue for the former Eredivise player is that since moving to the Camp Nou, he has mainly been a bench warmer. In the last campaign, he only featured once in the league and once in the Champions League.

He did play every game in the Copa Del Rey and helped the team lift the trophy. Overall, in 11 appearances, the Netherlands star conceded only 3 goals and kept 8 clean sheets.

As per the provided Mundo Deportivo link, the 29-year-old goalie wants more game time and moving to a new club could sort that for him but Barca do not want to sell him. However, he has got a release clause of €60million in his contract and Liverpool could sign him by activating that clause.

The major positive news for Liverpool is that as per Diario Gol, even Cillessen wants to play for Liverpool, who have not made any official offer for the Dutch goalie as yet.

According to Don Balon, Klopp is aware of Cillesen’s situation and has decided to make a strong move to take the player away from Barcelona.
