Juventus favourites to pursue deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder

Serie A holders Juventus are reportedly leading the pursuit of wantaway Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak. The Poland international made the switch from Sevilla to Parc des Princes last summer with the opportunity to reunite with manager Unai Emery. However, the midfielder struggled to make himself regular at the centre of the park with the likes of Thiago Motta, Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot being preferred ahead of him in the pecking order. Krychowiak ended the 2016/17 campaign with just seven starts in Ligue 1, and Emery has confirmed that the player would be leaving the club during the summer transfer window.

According to Estadio Deportivo h/t Fichajes, the player’s transfer saga has taken a new twist with Valencia no longer interested in his services. This will, in turn, enable Juventus to move for the former Sevilla player, who is being seen as the perfect fit for their midfield. The Old Lady have struggled to find all-action midfielder since the departures of Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, and Krychowiak could be the man to provide more goals with creativity in Turin.

Apart from Krychowiak, Blaise Matuidi, Steven N’Zonzi and Emre Can have been identified as suitable options to bolster the midfield department ahead of next season. Juventus will undoubtedly be hurt by their Champions League final thrashing at the hands of Real Madrid, and they will seek to make amends in Europe as well with additional quality in their ranks.

Meanwhile, Los Che are interested in a summer approach for Juventus’ Mario Lemina, who could be sold on the arrival of a new recruit. The Gabon international started off the previous campaign as a regular in the lineup, but he lost the trust of Allegri following a red card in a Champions League game against Lyon. Lemina has attracted further interest from Premier League clubs including Watford, but a summer exit has not quite materialised.
