Serie A holders Juventus are close to wrapping up a deal for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Mattia De Sciglio this summer, Calciomercato reports. The Old Lady had been tracking Arsenal shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny over the course of the previous campaign, and they look set to acquire his services after having reached an agreement with the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger’s side were initially reluctant to accept anything less than £20m for Szczesny, but they have eventually agreed on a sum of £7m plus add-ons with the player having made his mind up to join the Italian champions. The Poland international will play deputy to Gianluigi Buffon for the upcoming campaign after which the veteran is likely to call quits on his playing career.

On the other hand, De Sciglio has decided to push through a move to Turin following the extended spending spree at AC Milan this summer. The 24-year-old has got unsettled with the ongoing business, and he is prepared to move on to Juventus, where he could push for a regular role.

The Italy international can feature on either side of the central defenders, while his ability to play further forward in the central midfield department also presents an additional dimension to his game under Max Allegri.

Taking his recent form into consideration, De Sciglio has been a hit and miss at San Siro, but Allegri is eager for a reunion with his compatriot after having seen him develop under his tutorship at San Siro. Juventus will part with a sum between £9m-£10.5m for De Sciglio in addition to £1.6m a year in wages.

Juventus have seen their defence significantly weakened this summer with the departures of Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves, but the club are hoping to patch things up in the transfer window with the likes of Stefan di Vrij and Kostas Manolas propping up their shortlist.
