Principle agreement reached – How Liverpool could line up with €40million midfielder

Liverpool have been linked with Spanish international and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos for quite some time and the recent reports have been positive for the Merseysiders.

Last week, renowned Italian source CalcioMercato claimed that the Reds have intensified contacts with the Spanish player’s agent and reached a four year principle agreement.

The Italian outlet mentioned that other clubs have been interested in hiring the services of the former Real Betis midfielder as well but Jurgen Klopp has convinced the player to join. CalcioMercato further stated that the Los Blancos are demanding a fee worth €40million for the 21-year-old Spaniard.

As far as Liverpool’s midfield is concerned, Klopp mainly used Coutinho in the central midfield this season before selling him in the winter transfer window. Moreover, we can expect Emre Can to leave Anfield in the summer after running down his current contract.

In such a scenario, the Merseysiders should strengthen their midfield department and someone as talented as Ceballos will be a quality addition. He is a versatile talent, who can effectively play anywhere in the midfield and also in the attack if needed.

Milner is hard working but he is past his best and at the age of 32, he should not really be starting every game next season. On the other hand Henderson is average at best and highly inconsistent. He should be replaced by Naby Keita when the Guinean arrives in the summer.

If Ceballos does end up moving to Liverpool, he could start with the likes of Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the midfield next season. Here is how Liverpool could line up with the highly rated youngster.
