World class £61.6million star offered to Chelsea

Chelsea let go Diego Costa and replaced him with Alvaro Morata for the last campaign and the move did not prove to be fruitful.

The Spanish international could only score 11 league goals in 31 league outings for the Blues, who need to sign a prolific goalscorer in the summer transfer window to challenge for the title next season.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Stamford Bridge club are linked with a world class finisher in the form of Argentine international and Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain.

According to London Evening Standard, the Old Lady have offered the 30-year-old striker to Chelsea in an attempt to re-sign Morata, who will turn 26 in October.

Since leaving the Bernabeu, the La Albiceleste striker has been a huge hit in the Serie A. In his last campaign with Napoli, Higuain netted 36 goals in 35 league outings.

In the recently concluded campaign, the South American center forward, who is valued (TMW) at around 70 million euros (£61.6million), scored 16 goals and provided 7 assists in 35 league appearances for Juve. Overall, he has scored 55 goals in 105 appearances for the Bianconeri.

As per London Evening Standard, the Blues are prepared to listen to offers for Alvaro Morata, if the Spaniard makes it clear that he wants to depart.
