Liverpool want to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon – I believe that much is very clear after reports have constantly linked the French attacker with the Anfield club.

Last night, Romain Collet-Gaudin, a renowned journalist for top channels like Canal + and Eurosport France, claimed that Fekir and his agent should be in Liverpool today to finalize the transfer of the Les Bleus playmaker.

In his tweet, the French journalist also stated that if all goes well then the Lyon star could even have his medical with the Reds. The question is, have Liverpool agreed a fee to sign Nabil Fekir?

Obviously, an agent can discuss terms on behalf of his client with any club at any time.

However, a player is only allowed to personally discuss the terms of a contract and complete the medical AFTER the buying club and the selling club have come to an agreement with regards to fee.

Bilel Ghazi, a renowned journalist for L’Equipe, has covered a few articles on this subject lately. Last Monday, he clearly stated in his post that Fekir could only intervene (i.e. deal with other clubs) once Lyon have agreed a fee with any club (whether Liverpool or any other)

In such a situation, if the 24-year-old star himself has traveled with his agent to finalize the move then it indicates that Liverpool might have agreed on a price with Lyon for his transfer.

Update: Fekir’s agent has spoken and made things clear (Le Progres)

“I’ll be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere, only when there will be an agreement with the OL”
