Germany’s strongest possible XI for the World Cup

Under the management of Joachin Low, champions Germany will kick start their World Cup campaign on 17th June against Mexico.

The Kaisers are the No.1 ranked side, they won the Confederations Cup last year without majority of their first team players and are the favorites to retain the WC title.

The four time World champions recently confirmed their 23-man squad for the competition in Russia after dropping Sane, Leno, Tah and Petersen.

As far as Germany’s strongest possible starting XI is concerned, Neuer should start in the goal despite making only 4 appearances for Bayern last season. He is the leader of the team and must start.

The likes of Kimmich and Hector should start in the fullback positions. Hummels and Boateng were part of the team that won the competition in 2014 and the duo must start in the central defense.

Gundogan and Goretzka had great campaigns for their respective clubs but Kroos is arguably the best central midfielder in the world and Khedira is Germany’s best play breaker, hence, the duo should start in the center of the park for Low.

Marco Reus is a top class playmaker when fit. Unfortunately, he missed the last World Cup and the European Championships due to injury. This time around, he is in the squad and must start on the left wing.

Bayern’s Thomas Muller has got a fantastic record of scoring 10 goals in 13 WC games. He should start on the right side of the attack. Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil should start in the No.10 role behind center forward Timo Werner, who netted 21 times in all competitions for Leipzig last season.
