EPL Player Ratings [Arsenal]: Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal ended their three-year wait for a victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The Gunners dominated play from the off and two controversial first-half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez secured three points against the north London rivals.

Here are our player ratings for the game…..

Petr Cech: The Gunners stopper was a spectator for much of the game, but he made a vital save off Eric Dier to keep the scores at 2-0 late in the derby. His fifth clean sheet of the league campaign – 7/10

Nacho Monreal: Had a quiet game in terms of moving forward, but nevertheless was resolute at the back, helping out Kolasinac when required. Often under-rated – 7/10

Laurent Koscielny: The skipper kept it neat in the central defence and combined well with Hector Bellerin during different periods of the game. He and Mustafi kept Kane at a distance from goal – 7.5/10

Shkodran Mustafi: Our man-of-the-match. The German only came off a thigh strain but he did not disappoint as he opened the scoring, and made numerous headed interceptions at the back – 9/10

Hector Bellerin: The Spaniard had the edge over Ben Davies on the right side of the field, but still needs to work on his final ball in the box which could truly make him world-class – 7/10

Sead Kolasinac: Kolasinac has not done much wrong since his switch to the Emirates. The Bosnian contributed dually on either side of the pitch. Kept Dele Alli at bay on a couple of occasions – 7/10

Granit Xhaka: Probably one of his quieter performances but kept his discipline to avoid a sending off. With a booking in the first-half, the Swiss played with a tight line throughout the game – 7/10

Aaron Ramsey: The flying Welshman made his regular dangling runs into the box, but without much success. Nevertheless, he contributed immensely and was a key catalyst towards the Gunners’ counter-attacks – 8/10

Mesut Ozil: A perfect day to silence the doubters. The German was back at his best, full of running and providing the assist for the opening goal. He could have easily had a goal of his own with some clinical finishing – 9/10

Alexis Sanchez: Likewise Ozil, Sanchez was a menace on the left side of the attack, where he often rushed his namesake Davinson into making mistakes. The Chilean got himself a goal from a Lacazette assist – 8.5/10

Alexandre Lacazette: The Gunners’ faithful could not have dreamt about a better signing in the forward department. The Frenchman was full of tricks up front and assisted Sanchez’s goal which eased the tension around the Emirates – 8/10
