Liverpool have been linked with Croatian international and Besiktas center half Domagoj Vida for quite some time and the latest reports seem positive for the Reds.
Few days back, Turkish source Fanatik reported that Liverpool have made an offer of €20million for the 29-year-old defender but the Turkish club want €35million for their star, who joined on a free transfer in the winter window.
Now, as per the latest update provided by Aksam, the Reds are very close to reaching a deal to sign the World Cup finalist. It is mentioned that the Merseysiders have made the most serious offer of 20 million pounds which could be enough to secure the deal but Besiktas want to talk with the player first.
The Turkish outlet have further mentioned that after negotiations between Vida’s manager and Liverpool, the transfer is expected to be closed.

Vida’s performance:
The former Dynamo Kyiv defender was impressive for the national side at the World Cup but unfortunately, he had to end the tournament with a silver medal. He scored one goal as well (against Russia in the quarter finals).
As far as his club campaign is concerned, he played 9 league games for the Ukrainian club in the first half of the season and scored 2 goals. In the second half of the season, he played 13 league games for Besiktas and scored 1 goal.
Liverpool’s current central defense:
Jurgen Klopp broke the club’s transfer record in the winter transfer window to sign Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk. The former Celtic center half has proved to be brilliant for the Reds. Dejan Lovren mainly partnered him in the second half of the last campaign.
The Reds have also got center backs like Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez. It will be fair to say that they lack quality depth in the department and therefore, Vida could be a top addition if the German boss can get his signing done.
