€123,000-a-week playmaker wants to sign for Spurs

Tottenham have been linked with Ivorian international and Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha for a long time and once again he is in the focus.

According to The Times, the 25-year-old playmaker has rejected a new contract offered by the Eagles and wants to agree a move to Spurs.

The British outlet have mentioned that Zaha, who signed a five year deal worth £110,000-a-week (€123,000-a-week) last year (The Guardian), was offered a new deal worth £120,000-a-week this time but he wants to leave.

Last season’s stats:

Crystal Palace lost their opening 7 games of the Premier League without even scoring a single goal and Zaha was mainly out (missed 6 games) with a knee injury.

He returned in October and scored a goal to help his team beat Antonio Conte’s Chelsea at Selhurst Park. Overall, in 28 league starts, he directly contributed in 14 goals (9 goals and 5 assists) and it will be fair to say that without him, Palace would have been relegated.

Tottenham’s offense:

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has got top quality players like Eriksen, Son and Alli in his attacking midfield. However, he does lack quality depth in the department and in such a scenario, Zaha will be a top addition.

The former Manchester United playmaker can comfortably play on either flank, as a secondary striker and also as a center forward. Such versatility could be an asset for Spurs.

His market value and contract length:

Zaha’s current contract will expire in 2022 and according to The Times, Palace value him at 70 million pounds.
