Manchester United must sign top quality stars in the summer transfer window. Moreover, they must also look to promote talented youngsters and give them a chance in the first team.

Yesterday, the Red Devils announced new deal for one of their starlets. Manchester United officially finalized a new contract with 17-year-old midfielder James Garner. This is his first professional contract.

The teenage player is naturally a defensive midfielder who has proved to be effective in the attacking third as well.

Last season, he featured in 20 U-18 Premier league games for the Old Trafford club and directly contributed in 8 goals (4 goals and 4 assists).

So far, Garner has made 9 appearances for the U-17 national side. In the recently concluded U-17 European Championships, he led the England team, who were eliminated on penalties in the semi finals by eventual champions, Netherlands.

Can he impress Jose Mourinho and earn his place in the Man United’s first team soon? Only time will tell.
