Deal close – €100m player to join Reds – “I’m going to Liverpool”

Liverpool broke their club transfer record to sign Virgil van Dijk from the Saints in the winter transfer window and the Netherlands international has been in top form for the Reds.

The issue is that the Merseysiders do not have a strong and consistent defender to partner the former Celtic center half and Klopp must sort that issue in the summer transfer window.

According to reports going on in the media, Liverpool are close to signing Colombian international and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina on a season long loan.

As per a report on Colombian TV,  journalist Ignacio Miguelez said: “There is a player who has already closed his future for next year and it is Yerry Mina, the Colombian will play on loan at Liverpool.”

On the other hand, Spanish source Diario Gol covered a report last night and came up with a headline “I’m going to Liverpool”. As per the report, Mina has made this statement to his surroundings (perhaps friends/teammates).

The Spanish source have mentioned that Mina, who has only played 3 La Liga games so far this season, is not in the short term plans of Barcelona coach Valverde and therefore, he will be leaving on loan in the summer transfer window.

The South American player won the Brazilian championship, the Colombian championship and the Copa Sudamericana before moving to Barca for €11.8m in January. The Catalan giants included a mammoth release clause of €100m in his contract.
