Liverpool have been linked with Swiss international and Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in the recent weeks.
If the latest reports going on in the media are anything to go by then the Reds are close to signing the former Bayern Munich attacker this summer. On 6 July, Mirror Sport reported that the Merseysiders are leading the race to hire his services from the Potters.
Two days back, The Telegraph exclusively revealed that manager Jurgen Klopp is making his move to sign Shaqiri and the German boss wants to activate the release clause of over 13 million pounds to get the deal done.

Yesterday, Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce tweeted and claimed that the 26-year-old star is set to become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer.
On the other hand, renowned Spanish source Sport reported that Shaqiri is very close to signing for the Anfield club.
Therefore, it will not come as any surprise if the ex Basel player ends up agreeing a move to Liverpool. Last season, the 74-cap player, who was impressive at the 2018 World Cup, played 36 times in the top flight of English football and directly contributed in 15 goals.
Shaqiri’s arrival will largely improve the quality and depth of Liverpool’s offense. His current contract with the Championship club will expire in 2020 and he earns around €74,000-a-week (Mirror Sport).
