Man United plot surprise move to sign £61.3million star

Manchester United have spent a lot of money under the management of Jose Mourinho in the last two campaigns, still, they have failed to win the PL title.

The Red Devils must further reinforce their squad in the summer transfer window if they are to seriously challenge for the ultimate prize.

As per the latest transfer news going on in the media, Manchester United are surprisingly looking to sign Brazilian international and AS Roma shot stopper, Alisson.

The Samba star has been linked with a move away from the Giallorossi and it will not come as any surprise if he leaves in the summer transfer window. However, the question is, will he move to Manchester United?

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (press pic at the end of the article), Manchester United have made contact and asked about signing the South American goalie, who has so far featured 23 times for the senior national side and is valued at 70 million euros (£61.3million).

This season, Alisson has so far featured in 36 league games for the Serie A club and kept no fewer than 16 clean sheets. He is without doubt a top goalie but United have got David De Gea, who is arguably the best goal keeper in the world.

The Spanish star has been United’s best and the most consistent player in the past few years and they cannot afford to lose him. Alisson will surely be the second choice goalie if he joins United with De Gea still around, therefore, the Brazilian No.1 should only move to a club where he will start week in week out.
