Chosen one – Arsenal want signing of €65million star

It seems impossible for the Gunners to clinch a CL place by finishing in the top four this season but they can play in Europe’s elite tournament in the next campaign if they win the Europa League.

After 29 games, so far, Arsenal have already conceded 41 goals in the Premier League. They are sixth in the table and no fewer than 13 points behind arch rivals Tottenham, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification position.

Last month, El Gol Digital reported that Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, wants to sign Jose Gimenez – who has a release clause of €65million – from Atletico Madrid to strengthen his defense. The French boss is under extreme pressure at the moment and in all fairness, he deserves to be sacked.

Nevertheless, as per the latest update provided by the mentioned Spanish source, Arsenal really want to reinforce their back line by luring a quality center half, who has got the experience of playing in a top European club. Moreover, El Gol Digital have claimed that the British club have chosen Gimenez for the position.

Under Diego Simeone, the 23-year-old South American defender has regularly started for the Rojiblancos since the turn of the year.

El Gol Digital have stated that Arsenal could sell Laurent Koscielny to Atletico Madrid in order to lower the asking price to sign Gimenez. Furthermore, it is mentioned that Simeone would like to have the French international in his team.
