Manchester United have been solid at the back under the management of Jose Mourinho this season. So far, in 34 league games, the Red Devils have only conceded 26 goals.

David De Gea is the best shot stopper in the country and deservedly earned his place in the PFA Team of the Year. In front of the Spanish goalie, United have got quality defenders and Mourinho must further strengthen the back line in the summer transfer window.

The Old Trafford club must sign a new right back to replace Antonio Valencia in the squad. The Ecuadorian international has been consistent for United at the back but he will turn 33 soon and should be replaced by a quality young defender.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then United are linked with Portuguese international Joao Cancelo, who is currently playing on loan for Inter Milan.

According to El Gol Digital, Cancelo will complete his move to Inter on a permanent basis from Valencia in the summer and afterwards, Manchester United will sign him.

Interestingly, the Spanish source has mentioned that Cancelo’s move to United will leave the door open for Darmian to move to Juventus. The Italian champions will then reportedly let Asamoah move to the San Siro to play for Inter.

The 23-year-old Portuguese wing-back has so far featured in 21 Serie A fixtures for Inter, scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists. He made his senior international debut for the Seleccao in 2016 and so far, he has featured in 6 games for them and scored 3 goals.
