Forward offered to Klopp’s Liverpool – Arsenal already bid €40m for him

As per recent reports going on in the Spanish media, Liverpool are linked with numerous Real Madrid players and the latest name in the focus is French international Karim Benzema.

According to Don Balon, Florentino Perez wants to get rid of the former Lyon center forward and is eager to hire the services of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah from the Anfield club.

The Spanish source have mentioned that the Real Madrid president wants to convince Liverpool to accept Benzema in the negotiation to sign Salah, who has already netted 40 goals in all competitions this season.

Benzema has won all the major trophies with the Los Blancos but his form has been quite average in the current campaign. In 38 appearances, he has only managed to score 9 goals for the reigning European Champions.

Liverpool do lack depth in their strike-force after letting strikers like Origi and Sturridge leave on loan. Firmino has been fantastic and very important for the Merseysiders and Klopp does not have any quality replacement if the Samba star gets injured.

The former Hoffenheim forward has so far netted 25 goals in all competitions for the Reds. As per the provided Don Balon link, Jurgen Klopp is not a big fan of Benzema and trusts Firmino more. The 30-year-old striker’s current contract with Real Madrid will expire in 2021.

A week ago, the Spanish source reported that Dortmund have offered €60million and Arsenal came up with a proposal worth €40million for the Les Bleus striker.

Benzema is a quality finisher but he is surely past his best and Liverpool must sign a young and proven quality goalscorer to strengthen their strike-force in the summer transfer window. More importantly, they must hold on to Mohamed Salah.
