Bayern Munich looking to sign Manchester United winger

Bayern Munich have won six Bundesliga titles in a row and they are favorites to extend that winning run next season.

As far as the transfers are concerned, the Bavarians have already lured Leon Goretzka on a free transfer and now, they are linked with Manchester United winger Anthony Martial.

According to The Times, the German champions and Chelsea are looking to sign the French international. The British outlet have mentioned that both the teams do not want to match United’s mammoth asking price of 100 million euros.

Martial’s stats:

The 22-year-old attacker featured in 30 league games for the Old Trafford club in the last campaign and directly contributed in 14 goals (9 goals and 5 assists).

In the first half of the campaign, he started on and off under Mourinho but after signing Sanchez, the former Chelsea boss mostly benched the former Monaco man.

Overall, Martial made 45 appearances last season but only started 27 times in all competitions.

Bayern’s attack:

Over the years, we have seen Ribery and Robben tear defenses apart for Bayern. Now, the retired French international is 35 and the retired Dutch star will turn 35 in January. Back in May, the duo agreed a one year deal with the club.

The above mentioned veterans cannot really start every game next season and therefore, Bayern must sign a winger like Martial, who can be deployed at either flank. The Germans do have a pacy winger in the form of Coman and it must be remembered that James Rodriguez is still with the club on loan from Real Madrid.
