Arsenal want €60million player to sort out conundrum

Arsenal finished the Premier League campaign in 6th position and will not be playing in the Champions League for a second season running.

The north Londoners were highly inconsistent under the management of Arsene Wenger and it will be intriguing to see how the new boss will fix the issues at the Emirates.

The 26-year-old center half has been fantastic for Napoli this season and the Italian side value him at 53 million pounds (€60million) (The Sunday Express).

The Gunners conceded 51 goals in the recently concluded Premier League campaign and as far as the next season is concenred, they will be without Mertesacker, who has retired. On the other hand, senior center back Koscielny is out with a long term injury and in such a situation, signing quality defender is a must.

Someone like Koulibaly will surely be a classy signing but will Arsenal be able to lure him without Champions League football, which has already been guaranteed at Napoli.

This season, the African defender has so far featured in 34 league games and even managed to score 5 goals for the club.
