Arsenal ready to sanction deal to sign €40million play breaker

Arsenal need to strengthen their midfield department in the summer transfer window and reports are linking them with Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi.

As far as Arsenal’s midfield is concerned, Cazorla is not going to be there anymore, Wilshere will be out of contract, Ramsey’s contract with the club will expire next year and his future is unclear, Xhaka has been inconsistent and Elneny has normally warmed the bench.

Therefore, strengthening the center of the park is extremely significant for Emery and according to reports (Mirror Sport), the Spanish manager, who signed N’Zonzi for Sevilla, wants to re-unite with him at the Emirates.

The Mirror have claimed that Mislintat – Arsenal’s head of recruitment – is ready to sanction the deal to sign the former Blackburn play breaker after discussions with Emery. It is further stated that Mislintat will push hard to get the deal done.

Together with Emery, N’Zonzi won the Europa League title in the 2015-16 campaign by beating Liverpool in the final of the competition.

The 29-year-old French international is naturally a defensive midfielder, but he can effectively play a creative role in the central midfield as well. Last season, he featured in 27 league games for Sevilla, scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists.

The ex Stoke City player’s current deal with Sevilla will expire in 2020 and it has got a release clause of €40million (El Gol Digital).
