Arsenal Looking to Sign Another Defensive Midfielder

Manchester United comfortably defeated bottom of the table Sunderland in the Premier League and are now in 5th place for the time being.

Arsenal will have the chance to over take the Red Devils again but they have to overcome the challenge of Crystal Palace tonight. The Eagles’ four game winning run came to an end in the midweek clash against the Saints.

The North London side are nine points behind Liverpool and cannot afford to slip up if they are to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League yet again.

The future of Arsenal Wenger is up in the air, still, the Gunners are linked with numerous quality stars to reinforce their squad in the summer transfer window.

Recently, as per Daily Star, Franck Kessie’s agent told Rai Sport that the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing the Atlanta star. The Ivorian starlet is a strong defensive midfielder and has been in top for for the Serie A side this season.

Arsenal do need to strengthen their team in the summer transfer window but they do not need a defensive midfielder at all.

Wenger already has a solid defensive midfield star in the squad in the form of Francis Coquelin. Moreover, last summer, the French boss spent a huge sum to hire the services of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

In addition, Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny can also be utilized in the holding midfield role. Therefore, it makes little sense that Arsenal are looking for another DM.

They have lacked a world class out and out center forward since the departure of Dutch star Robin van Persie in 2012. Giroud and Welbeck are not good enough and Arsenal must spend big to secure the signature of a clinical finisher this summer.
