Arsenal have confirmed their fourth capture of the summer after hiring the services of Uruguayan international Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria.
The north Londoners have been linked with the South American defensive midfielder for a long time and now they have finally secured his signature.
As per reports in the media, Arsenal have agreed €45million worth deals to seal the signing of Torreira.

According to The Guardian, the Gunners have paid a fee worth 26.5million pounds (€30million) to the Italian club to sign the holding midfield player.
As far as the terms of contract are concerned, Uruguayan outlet Tenfield reported that the player has agreed a five year deal that will make him earn €3million-a-year.
Few days back, the terms were also mentioned by renowned La Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, who tweeted that the play breaker will sign a five year contract worth €15million.
Torreira directly contributed in 5 goals in the Serie A last season and we can expect him to partner Ramsey and Xhaka in the center of the park for Arsenal next season.
Praising the 22-year-old, new boss Unai Emery claimed (AFC):
“In Lucas Torreira, we have signed a young player who is a very bright talent in the game. A midfielder with great quality, I have enjoyed watching his performances for Sampdoria in the past two seasons, and we all saw him do very well for Uruguay in the World Cup. He is a young player already with good experience, but who wants to keep on growing. We welcome Lucas to Arsenal and look forward to him joining us soon for pre-season.”
