Arsenal could lose key player to Bayern Munich this summer

Arsenal face the prospect of losing the services of Alexis Sanchez this summer amid his reluctance to extend his contract at the Emirates stadium. The Chilean has been playing hardball over negotiations for some while, but manager Arsene Wenger is still eager to keep hold of his services for next season.

The likes of Manchester City and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Sanchez over the past week, but according to The Telegraph, the Gunners will have fresh admirers for the attacker in the form of Bayern Munich.

Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is on the search for a new companion for Robert Lewandowski in the attacking department with Douglas Costa and Thomas Muller having been sparingly used over the course of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery have been regulars in the starting lineup for the Bavarian giants, and their service could be up in a season or two with both approaching the latter stages of their respective careers.

Sanchez, 28, has already notched an impressive tally of 24 goals and 14 assists for the Gunners this season, and without him, the Gunners would be lingering in mid-table and without the prospect of competing for the FA Cup.

As per The Telegraph, Ancelotti is keen on bringing the Chilean winger to his ranks in the summer with the future of Douglas Costa seemingly hanging in the balance.

Costa has previously insisted (Goal) that he is assessing offers from both England and China, and this is unlikely to hold well with Ancelotti who demands 100 percent commitment from his players whilst at the club.

Sanchez has just a year left on his present Emirates deal, and it is suggested that Bayern would be willing to pay a sum in the region of £55m in order to pursue his signature in the coming transfer window.
