Arsenal finished sixth in the Premier League last season and will not be featuring in the next season’s Champions League.

The north Londoners must step up big time next season under the management of new boss Unai Emery, who definitely needs quality signings this summer.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Arsenal are close to securing three signings worth 62 million pounds (€70million).

According to London Evening Standard, Arsenal are closing in on signing Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira for a fee of 26 million pounds.

The British source have stated that the Gunners have also approached Bayer Leverkusen over a 20 million pounds move for German goalie Bernd Leno. Yesterday, Sports Bild reported that the shot stopper is nearing a move to Arsenal and an announcement could be made soon.

Last but not the least, ES have mentioned that Greek international and Dortmund center half Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to join the north Londoners for a fee worth 16 million pounds.

Arsenal conceded 51 league goals in the last campaign under French boss Arsene Wenger and to shore things up at the back, signing of a quality defender, a goal keeper and a defensive midfielder should greatly help the new manager.
