Pochettino has asked Spurs to secure £35.4million player for him

Tottenham are looking to reinforce their midfield department in the summer transfer window and more than a few quality stars are linked.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Mauricio Pochettino is looking to replace Belgian international Mousa Dembele and the Argentine boss has asked Spurs to secure the signing of Steven N’Zonzi from Spanish side Sevilla.

The renowned Italian source have mentioned that Daniel Levy is looking to get around 30 million euros for Dembele and N’Zonzi could cost around 40 million euros (£35.4million) which is the release clause in his current contract with the La Liga club.

Dembele played 39 games in all competitions for the north Londoners last season but failed to directly contribute in even a single goal. His current contract with the club will expire next year.

On the other hand, N’Zonzi took part in 44 games for Sevilla in the last campaign, scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists.

The 29-year-old French international can play in multiple midfield positions but naturally, he is a defensive midfielder. He has got ample Premier League experience under his belt having featured in 195 games from 2009 to 2015 (Blackburn and Stoke City).

In your opinion, is N’Zonzi good enough to replace Dembele?

  1. This article must be a wind up. If It’s not your lack
of football knowledge is staggering. Dembele in the
last 2-3 years has been one of the most important
players at the club, when he’s in the team it’s a weight
off the shoulders of the real fans because when he plays
we rarely lose. People who know nothing all about football
seem to be obsessed with goal and assist stats
Instead of just looking at a player and understanding
how much he would be missed if he wasn’t there. He’s
a top quality player and if spurs let him go it’ll be
a great loss, many opposition players will be pleased
to see the back of him cos they know how good he
is. N’Zonzi is half decent but not in dembele’s
league, if he leaves then it is what it is and the fans
will just have to trust that the club bring in a quality
    replacement

  2. Dembele will ultimately have to be replaced as his body is beginning to protest the rigorous of the English league. But we can’t have any nzonzo or bonzo pretending to replace Moussa. Till u realise it may mean we will sell the other Moussa. Zonzo for Lord Sissoo works for me.
