Balzani – Liverpool offer made & €75m could agree deal

Liverpool and Alisson have been constantly linked this summer and the past 48 hours have been very interesting.

Yesterday, La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Liverpool’s offer of €65m for the Brazilian could formalize (on Friday) and they also stated that the Reds have offered a lucrative contract to the Samba star. The Italian outlet further mentioned that the Giallorossi want €70m for Alisson.

As per an update provided by Italian reporter Francesco Balzani (Leggo) today, Real Madrid offered €50m, Chelsea offered €60m and Liverpool have now offered €65m, however, Roma’s DOF Monchi and chairman James Pallotta spoke about the scenario yesterday in London and they want €75m for their shot stopper.

Klopp has already spent a lot of cash to sign the likes of Fabinho and Keita for the first team this summer. Not to forget, he still needs to replace star playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who left Anfield to join Spanish giants Barcelona in winter.

If Liverpool do end up paying Roma’s asking price (mentioned above) then Alisson will become the club’s second biggest signing after Virgil van Dijk. The Merseysiders paid 75 million pounds (The Guardian) to Southampton to secure the big Dutch center back in January.

The South Ameican star did perform well in the Serie A but Liverpool scored 7 goals past him in the two semi final legs of the Champions League last season. At Anfield, the home side scored 5 and in all honesty, the ex Internacional goalie looked shaky and the Reds could have had even more goals on the night.

So, is Alisson really good enough to solve the ongoing goal keeping dilemma at Liverpool? Is he really worth €75m?
