Mou working behind scenes, ready to launch move to sign €115,000-a-week star for Man Utd

Manchester United had the second best defense in the Premier League last season but it seems that Mourinho wants to further strengthen his back line in the summer transfer window.

It must be remembered that the Red Devils already have center backs like Rojo, Blind, Lindelof, Smalling, Jones and Bailly in the squad. Still, the Portuguese boss wants to sign another center half in the form of French international Raphael Varane.

According to Spanish source Don Balon, Mou has been working behind the scenes for a long time to hire the services of the Les Bleus defender from the Los Blancos.

The Spanish source have mentioned that the Man United manager is ready to launch a move to sign Varane this summer.

The 25-year-old center back has been rock solid for Real Madrid since he was lured to the club by Jose Mourinho back in 2011. Last year, the French defender agreed a new deal with the European champions, which will expire in 2022 and at the moment, he earns €115,000-a-week (The Daily Express).

The former Lens defender has won every major prize with Real Madrid and should look to move to the Premier League for a new challenge.

Varane has already played 41 times for the senior national side and he has been named in the 23-man squad that will travel to Russia for the World Cup.

One comment

  1. United have had the best defence across all competitions of any EPL club over the last two seasons.

Don ‘Every Day Is April Fools Day’ Balon are less reliable than North Korean TV and feature at least 1 April Fools style United story each day. This one is one I haven’t come across before so it must be new.

However my favourite piece of delusion by them so far was the story that Jurgen Klopp would only consider joining Real Madrid if Real bought Salah as well when Liverpool do not have to release either from their contracts. Don Balon really do live in some Twilight World of Football hysteria……
