How Liverpool will line up with Nabil Fekir

Liverpool lost against Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend but the Reds are still in pole position to finish in the top four.

The Merseysiders have reached the Champions League final and will play Real Madrid on 26th May. This is a huge achievement for Jurgen Klopp, who now needs to further amplify the quality of the squad in the summer transfer window if Liverpool are to win the Premier League title next season.

The British giants sold Coutinho in the winter transfer window and have done well without even replacing the Brazilian superstar. However, Liverpool do lack depth in the offensive third and they must sign a top attacker.

According to latest reports going on in France (RMC Sport), Liverpool have agreed a fee worth 70 million euros (£61.5million) to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon. The French source have further mentioned that the Reds have also agreed a five year contract with the playmaker.

Fekir has been sensational for the Ligue 1 side in the current campaign. In 38 outings in all competitions, the 24-year-old star has so far scored 22 goals and provided 7 assists.

The French international can effectively operate in multiple attacking positions but he is naturally a central attacking midfielder (No.10 role).

Liverpool mainly utilize a 4-3-3 formation in which Salah and Mane play out-wide and Firmino starts in the center forward position. Coutinho used to push forward from the midfield to play in the CAM position for Liverpool in the first half of the campaign.

We can expect Klopp to use a 4-2-3-1 formation if Fekir does end up sealing his move to Anfield. Here is how Liverpool will line up with Fekir.

One comment

  1. If we could force and get Alisson, Naby, Mousa Dembele, and Nabil this summer then “come any Trophy we shall compete in.”

I promise 4-2-3-1 will just take us to another level.
